My name is Irann Nayely Orozco I am a Junior in high school, I recently travel to Orlando Florida to compete for nationals I was ranked 2nd best in the nation in my weight division, because of this I qualified for World championships and have been invited to represent the United States in Sofia Bulgaria. Between July 30 and August 1,
Mixed martial arts had an incredible impact in my life, as I began to enter my teen years I really struggled to find myself and find my place. I was bullied in a way that truly wounded me Because of this I have more compassion for others and treat everyone with the respect I would want from them.
My mother had one day encourage me to try martial arts to keep me busy as well as hope for a positive outcome I was so excited of the idea , later a psychologist friend of the family told my parents that he always recommended martial arts for struggling teens to help them learn self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, self discipline and to develop The ability to follow instruction as well as work, train with others in a respectful manner. It turned out mma was exactly what I needed. I discovered a real passion for mma it’s what I want to get up & do for the rest of my life, I learned that if I really apply myself I can succeed at anything. And I have applied myself my Sensei at kihon mma awarded me with the title “ most improved stand up martial artist of the year” I still have a lot to learn but it is amazing how far I’ve come in the past year that I’ve been training everyday, both in my art & as a young women.
