Supporting Ian & Carolynn McDowell
For over five years, Ian and Carolynn McDowell have been on an incredibly difficult journey.
Ian has endured cancer, multiple major surgeries, and the removal of a kidney and is now on dialysis. Following complications from surgery, a severe infection spread through his body. As a result, Ian lost his right leg above the knee, suffered a heart attack, and is now in ICU in an induced coma while nurses and doctors fight to save his life and his remaining leg.
Through it all, Carolynn has been by his side.
Their retirement savings were used during Ian’s earlier surgeries and recovery, and with both lost income and mounting medical and living expenses, they are now facing significant financial hardship.
Anyone who knows Ian and Carolynn knows this: they are helpers. They opened their home, supported friends in need, and built a loving community through the Victoria music scene and their Saturday jam sessions. They have always been there for others—and now they need us.
Funds raised will help with:
• Home modifications for life after amputation
• Medical and mobility equipment
• Mortgage, utilities, and basic living expenses
• Lost and future lost wages during recovery
The family is also asking for prayer and healing intentions as the medical team works tirelessly for Ian.
Reaching out like this was not easy for them. They declined help for years, choosing to rely on their own savings as long as they could. That option is now gone.
Our goal is $50,000 to help carry them through this next chapter—whatever the outcome may be.
If you’re able to give, please do. If not, sharing and holding them in your prayers means more than you know.
Let’s be there for Ian and Carolynn, the way they have been there for so many of us.
