Funeral Support and Safe Transition for Holly’s Children

Donation protected
This fundraiser was originally created to help cover expenses while Holly was hospitalized and recovering from multiple medical events. Tragically, she passed away shortly before she was expected to be discharged.

In the wake of this loss, Holly’s oldest daughter will be moving her younger brothers back to Wyoming to live with her. This transition is happening within the next two weeks. The goal is to provide the boys with a stable home of their own, but this move was completely unexpected.

As many know, relocating across several states comes with significant costs, including hauling belongings, travel expenses, first and last month’s rent, and a security deposit. In addition, Jackie has been unable to work since returning to Arizona during this critical time and will need to take additional short-term time off to help the boys settle in and adjust.

Please consider supporting Holly’s children during this incredibly heartbreaking and difficult time. Any help means more than words can express.

Original Story:
"On November 26th, my mom, Holly, experienced a bilateral stroke as well as a clot blockage in her dominant foot, which has resulted in her needing an amputation. My mom is 52 years old and has been a hairstylist for the last 32 years. She has always been the caregiver for others: her parents, her cousins, clients, and me on a few occasions, or the occasional stray animal she takes in. She is the most giving, loving, and passionate human I have ever met, and I am so fortunate to call her my momma. If you know my mom, then you know she is as loving as she is stubborn, and she is the last person to ask for help. But because she is unable to, I am here asking for your help and support.

I live in Laramie, Wyoming, while she lives in Phoenix, Arizona. I am with her now in Arizona, but because she is unable to work, my brothers and I risk losing our home. She will be moving with me, but before that, she must go through acute physical therapy. Before all of this, she was a healthy, hardworking mom, and now her whole life has been turned upside down. If you are able to donate or share this on your feed, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!" ~Jackie

What began as a simple headache has turned into a nightmare no family is ever prepared for.
On November 26th, Holly wasn’t feeling well. She never complains and always powers through, so it was highly unusual for someone as tough and independent as she is to call for help. With some urging, she went to the ER, where nothing was caught. Two days later, her condition worsened, and her behavior became noticeably strange. Her son began calling Jackie, her daughter who lives in Wyoming, over and over, clearly worried. Jackie’s best friend rushed Holly back to the ER, where they discovered she was having a stroke. She was immediately life-flighted to a Level 1 trauma center, where a neurosurgeon was waiting.
Doctors believe Holly had suffered a stroke during her first ER visit as well.
Jackie flew home to Phoenix from Wyoming that evening. Upon arrival, she received a call from the doctor, and she learned that her mom also had a dangerous blood clot in her leg. Jackie, as the oldest child, had to make an impossible choice: a procedure that offered a 50/50 chance of saving the leg but came with a high risk of a dangerous brain bleed, or moving forward with amputation to protect Holly’s recovery. Jackie chose the safest option for her mom, giving Holly a higher percentage of no additional damage to her brain and moving forward with amputation.
She knew Holly’s strength and stubborn determination could get her through the challenges of an amputation—but losing more brain function, or risking death, was not an option. The surgery was originally scheduled for 5:30 p.m. the following day. Due to various circumstances, it was delayed and is expected to happen tomorrow, 12/4/25, at 3:00 p.m. Holly is still at significant risk for additional strokes and other risks associated with such major surgeries.
Throughout all of this, Holly has been unable to work. As a hairdresser, if she doesn’t work, she earns no income—and she has two sons who depend on her, including one with disabilities. With Phoenix’s extremely high cost of living, missing even a single paycheck is overwhelming. Missing weeks or months is impossible.
Jackie is also a hairdresser and is currently out of work while she stays in Phoenix to care for her brothers and, God willing, soon her mother through surgery and rehabilitation. She will be here for at least a month, and likely longer. This means she has no income either.
This family is fighting for Holly’s life while trying to keep a roof over their heads.

Funds raised will go directly toward Holly’s rent and essential expenses, and will help Jackie cover part of her own costs so she can stay in Phoenix and support her family through this difficult time.

Holly is still in the ICU. She is still in danger. And this family is holding everything together with sheer love, support from family and friends, and faith.
Your support, no matter the amount, will give them the stability they desperately need while they fight through the hardest chapter of their lives.
