Many of you know and love Heidi Vierheller. She is a devoted wife, mother, friend, and someone who has been a source of strength, encouragement, and support to so many people in her community.

Heidi has been courageously battling breast cancer for many years. After undergoing treatment in the past and experiencing a period of being cancer-free, she received the heartbreaking news in 2024 that the cancer had returned as stage IV metastatic breast cancer, beginning a new and incredibly difficult chapter in her journey.

For the past year and a half, Heidi has been living life from scan to scan, doing everything she can to stay strong for her family. Through it all, she has faced each challenge with remarkable resilience, faith, and grace.

Recently, Heidi received devastating news following her latest PET scan.

Over the past two months, the cancer has progressed significantly and is now present in her lungs, the lining of her lungs, several lymph nodes in her chest, her liver, three ribs, and her spine. This unexpected development has been a heartbreaking blow for Heidi and her family.

While this news is incredibly difficult, Heidi is not out of treatment options. She will be working closely with her oncology team to determine the next steps, including a biopsy and additional testing to identify any genetic mutations that may allow for targeted therapies.

As many families navigating cancer know, the fight is not only physical and emotional, it can also bring a significant financial burden. Ongoing treatments, testing, medications, specialist visits, and everyday living expenses can quickly add up.

Earlier in Heidi’s journey, many generous friends, family members, and members of the community stepped in to support the Vierheller family. That kindness meant more than words can express and helped carry them through an incredibly difficult time.

As Heidi now faces this new and unexpected chapter, we are once again coming together to help ease the financial burden so she can focus on her health, her treatment, and time with the people she loves most.
