Hi everyone,

My name is Steve Schneider, and I’m Heather Baer’s husband. I’m starting this page to help support Heather while she recovers from a difficult and unexpected series of health issues, requiring multiple surgeries.

Many of you know Heather through her work as the owner of Fitness in Transit or from dancing and training at Cielo Vertical Arts. Movement and community are a huge part of her life, and she loves helping people feel stronger and more confident in their bodies.

Recently, Heather had to undergo surgery for a serious back issue that left her with numbness in one of her legs. While she was still recovering and working to regain sensation, she had a hiking accident that resulted in a severe ankle injury. She had to be airlifted out at night and was later diagnosed with a trimalleolar fracture, requiring surgery and screws and a bone plate placed into her tibia and fibula to stabilize the injury.

Between the back surgery and the broken leg, Heather now faces a long recovery and many weeks where she will be unable to work. As a small business owner and instructor whose livelihood depends on being physically active, this has created both physical and financial challenges.

Heather has spent years helping others move, heal, and feel strong in their bodies. Now we’re hoping the community can rally around her while she focuses on healing.
