Supporting Grandma's Resilience

Hello, I'm Hayden, and I'd like to share the incredible love story of my grandparents, Jan and Donald Barnes, with you. Their story is a testament to the enduring power of love and commitment, and now they need our help more than ever.

Jan and Donald met when they were just 14 years old, growing up in the same small town in Kansas. Their young hearts quickly found a connection that would last a lifetime. They married at the age of 18, embarking on a journey that would span 63 beautiful years.

My grandpa, Donald, was a skilled welder and an avid outdoorsman. He could fix just about anything, and his love for nature and adventure was infectious. Grandma Jan was the heart and soul of their home. She was not only an incredible baker but also a woman who exuded kindness and warmth. She's always been there with open arms, ready to offer her love and support to anyone in need.

Their life together was filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. However, the sands of time have brought about unexpected challenges. Donald's battle with dementia has led to his admission to a care facility, where he can receive the specialized care he needs. This has put a significant financial strain on Grandma Jan.

We've already sold everything we can, except for their beloved home and Grandma Jan's car, to help pay for Grandpa's care. Now, we're faced with a daunting $5,100/mo bill to keep him in the facility where he's getting the support he requires. We're reaching out to our community, friends, and anyone willing to lend a helping hand to assist us during this difficult time.

The love and devotion that Jan and Donald have shared throughout their lives are nothing short of inspirational. We want to ensure that they can continue to hold hands and share their love story for as long as possible.
