After 19 years of caring for patients and families at Richmond Hospital, Grace Inonog now finds herself on the other side of the hospital bed — facing breast cancer while preparing to support her daughter through open heart surgery.
My name is Fay, and I am raising funds for my close friend and dear colleague, Grace. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside her and seeing firsthand the compassion, strength, and dedication she brings to her work every day. For nearly two decades, Grace has cared for patients and supported families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. To many of us, she is more than a coworker — she is a mentor, a steady presence, and someone who quietly looks after everyone around her.
Recently, Grace was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already undergone surgery and will need another surgery followed by radiation. As she goes through treatment and recovery, she will be on medical leave from work.
At the same time, her beloved daughter, Tin — the only family Grace has here in Canada and who lives with her — is preparing to undergo open heart surgery.
It is hard to imagine the weight of what this mother and daughter are facing together. Two life-changing medical battles happening at the same time, under one roof.
For 19 years, Grace has been the one showing up for others in their darkest hours. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
While Grace focuses on healing and supporting Tin through her surgery and recovery, being away from work for an extended time will bring significant financial strain. Everyday living expenses, time away from income, and the many responsibilities of caring for her daughter during a major heart surgery will add to an already overwhelming season.
If you are able to help, any donation — big or small — would mean so much. Any support — whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping Grace and Tin in your thoughts and prayers — will mean so much to their family during this difficult time.
Thank you for surrounding Grace and her family with love and support during this incredibly difficult time.
