Supporting Gina’s Recovery

Have you met Gina? If you have you know that she is full of life! Her laughter is contagious! She is such a wise and beautiful soul! And she is a warrior!

In July 2019, she started an evaluation for her 3rd kidney transplant. But this has all been put on hold.

In October 2019, Gina had open heart surgery. That recovery was not easy... but she walked through each day and grew stronger each day. She was able to go back to work in late November.

Now she is facing another hard recovery. Gina was admitted to Tampa General on May 11, 2020. The doctors were addressing some serious circulation issues in her left leg. After 3 procedures to help improve circulation, Gina and the doctors made a very difficult decision.

On Friday, May 22, Gina had the lower portion of her left leg amputated at mid-calf. 

Now begins another long recovery process. She is currently at Largo Medical Center and learning how to navigate with one leg until the arrival of her prosthetic.

Gina will likely be out of work another 2 months concentrating on recovery. She feels all of the love and support and prayers from her family and friends.
