Supporting Gianna’s road to recovery
Donation protected
As many of you may have heard, our dear friend/sister/sweet soul Gianna was in a tragic car crash early Wednesday morning. Luckily, all three were wearing their seatbelts because this could have been way more tragic. The road was a single lane road on each side and there was gravel and a ditch surrounding the road, the driver went over the right solid line and in order to miss the ditch he over-corrected the car and the back tires hit the gravel which caused them to fish tail off the road and onto the left side of the road and onto the grass. The car struck and wrapped around a huge oak tree on Gianna’s side which caused her to be trapped in the car. The other two were able to get out or pulled to safety. Some bystanders seen the car crash happened and immediately came rushing to help out. There was a lady who Gianna wants to find and personally thank for waking her up and telling her she had to get out of the car because it was smoking and then soon caught on fire. Finally, the lady took matters into her own hands and grabbed Gianna out and dragged her about 30 feet away before the car completely caught on fire and eventually blew up. Gianna was then rushed to the hospital in a helicopter where she was treated for many injuries. She went directly into surgery for her right foot/ankle where they put in 20/30 metal bolts and rods & 2 pieces of metal sheets. She broke her tibia and fibula. She has 15 stitches in her left leg, broke 4 ribs, fractured her lumbar in her spine, has a collapsed lung and has many bumps and bruises from the car crash and the seatbelt, which saved her life. Due to moving back to Chicago recently and starting a new job she unfortunately doesn’t have any medical insurance, and as of right now she doesn’t even have a set date for her to leave the hospital. She is getting a back and chest brace put on today and once she can finally get off bed rest and start PT they will know more about when she can leave the hospital. After many hours of surgery, cat scans, MRIs, x-rays, physical therapy and at home medical assistance her bills will be racking up higher and higher. They also are not allowing her to go back to work for 6-8 weeks while her leg is in a cast and that’s only if everything goes well. As we all know Gianna is a very strong and independent woman and doesn’t like asking for handouts but at this time we feel as if she needs to focus on this long road of recovery ahead of her and not stress about all the hospital bills that are quickly piling up! Anything would be appreciated and she wanted to let everyone know that all your kind words, positive vibes and prayers are really motivating her to keep pushing and she is really feeling the love!!!! We thank you ahead of time, & we all love and are rooting for you G!!!!
