Hi everyone -
On January 21st, 2023, our beautiful 11-yr old goddaughter, Genesis, was brought to the Emergency Room for stomach pains that woke her from her sleep. After a CT scan detected a mass on her kidney, Genesis was transferred to Nicklaus Children’s Hospital where she underwent an emergency 9-hour surgery to remove her kidney and the entire tumor. She was officially diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilm’s Tumor, a rare kidney cancer that primarily affects children, a few days later.
Genesis will have to undergo about 25 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation therapy treatments beginning immediately which will undoubtably take a huge toll on the entire family. We would like to gather the support of our community to help the Rodriguez/Gomez family cover the expenses that will be incurred as they navigate the next few months.
We believe God has blessed Genesis with an amazing medical team, and that he is already answering our prayers. This is not only a life-changing event for Genesis, her family, and loved ones, but a time when Genesis and her family need financial support. Support to give her the best opportunity for treatment, recovery and a healthy, happy life... as every child deserves.

Como algunos de ustedes sabrán, nuestro mundo dio un vuelco hace un par de semanas cuando recibimos la noticia de que a nuestra ahijada, Génesis, se le diagnosticó con Will’s tumor en etapa 3, un raro cáncer pediátrico del riñón. Tuvo que someterse a una cirugía para extirpar el tumor y el riñón.
Ella tendrá que tener alrededor de 6 meses de quimioterapia y radioterapia. Ella es la chica más fuerte que conocemos y es una luchadora. Ella tiene esto!
Nos gustaría reunir el apoyo de nuestra comunidad para ayudar a la familia Rodríguez/Gómez a cubrir los gastos en los que incurrirán durante los próximos meses. Creemos que Dios ha bendecido a Génesis con un equipo médico maravilloso y que ya está respondiendo nuestras oraciones. Este no es solo un evento que cambia la vida de Génesis, su familia y sus seres queridos, sino un momento en el que Génesis y su familia necesitan apoyo financiero. Apoyo para brindarle la mejor oportunidad de tratamiento, recuperación y una vida sana, feliz... como todo niño se merece.
