Dear All Who Love Gail –

With Gail’s permission, I am creating this Go Fund Me in the hopes that we can do something – anything – to make her life just a little bit easier as she faces a continued uphill battle in reclaiming her health and her independence.

In December, Gail started cancer treatment for cancer that she had beaten in 2015 but that returned. Her treatments started just before Christmas. On New Year's Day, as Gail was out in her neighborhood walking her little Yorkie, Coco, she was hit by a car with such force that she shattered the windshield, hit the hood, and bounced onto the ground. Gail was seriously injured and spent a month in the hospital followed by limited time in an assisted living facility, getting strong enough to walk again. When she could take 5 steps, she was sent home to her 3rd floor walk-up. Generous friends carried her up to her apartment that day.

Gail continued part-time physical therapy and was getting better and stronger.

About a month ago, due to her injuries, Gail had a bad fall in her kitchen, damaging her shoulder, hitting her head, and cutting her lip deeply enough to warrant stitches. Another trip to the ER followed.

During all this time, her cancer treatments have continued at full force, so on top of the injuries that she is suffering, she is also dealing with chemo that has her feeling terribly unwell. A few weeks ago, Gail received devastating news – the cancer treatments have not been successful, and another round of chemo, immunotherapy, and radiation is in order.

If you know Gail, you know that she is a beautiful friend, counselor, and mentor. She has handled everything thrown at her with grace and humor, continually thinking of others and prioritizing her friends and her clients.

Her friends and support systems have gotten her this far, and I would like us to do one more thing for her, which is to buffer her situation with a little layer of financial security so that she can just focus on getting well. The funds will go towards medical bills, help with Coco such as dog walking, and basic living expenses as Gail focuses on healing her body.
