Mike’s love for our country, patriotism, valor, fidelity and his career with the United States Air Force has lead to this one time donation to a graduating high school student pursuing a career in aviation mechanics.
Michael Carl Stewart, 67, of Jamestown Indiana, passed away on 12 January 2026. He was born to William Carlie and Dona Elizabeth Stewart 23 March 1958 in Hayti, Pemiscot County Missouri. They preceded him in death.
He was a devoted family man whose greatest pride and joy was the life he built with those he loved. As a Husband, Stepfather, Uncle and Papaw, he was a steady presence—offering guidance, humor, and unwavering support to his family.
Mike proudly served in the United States Air Force for 11 years, a chapter of his life that shaped his strong work ethic, sense of duty, and love of country. He carried those values with some long term friendships long after his service ended, living with integrity and quiet strength.
Outside of family and service Mike found peace and happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing—whether it was the calm of the water, the anticipation of a bite, or simply being outside with good company. Nature was his refuge, and he was never happier than when surrounded by fresh air and open skies. His soundtrack to life was rock ’n’ roll, music that reflected his spirit and stayed with him through the years.
Mike will be remembered for his loyalty, his stories, his love of life, and the deep care he showed to those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the memories he created with them.
He is survived by his wife Lori Stewart, stepsons Christopher (Melanie) Otto and Caleb Otto, granddaughters Callie Ann Otto and Eva Jane Otto, brother Donnie Stewart (Therese) along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his his parents, he was preceded in death by sister in law Margie Stewart, brother & sister in law, William Charles & Dolores Stewart, sisters Joyce Constant, Norma Jean McCoy, brothers in law Bobby Constant and Bobby McCoy, nieces Selena Stewart, Debbie McWilliams, and nephew Paul McCoy.
Visitation will be held Monday, 19 January 2026 4-8pm along with a Celebration of Life service to be held on Tuesday, 20 January 2026 at 11am, at Old Union Church
