Supporting Our Fripp Island Employee Families
The Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort community is heartbroken following a traffic accident this past weekend that impacted several beloved members of our resort team.
This fund has been created to support the individuals and families affected during this incredibly difficult time. All those involved are valued Fripp Island Resort employees, and the loss and uncertainty surrounding this event has deeply touched coworkers, friends, and loved ones across our community.
Two of our colleagues, Amya Fields and Louie Carbonneau, lost their lives, and another remains in critical condition. In addition, two current resort employees are mothers of those directly impacted. Each family is facing unique and deeply personal challenges, and this fund is intended to provide meaningful support where it is needed most.
Syncera Dummitt (17) is currently in critical condition at MUSC Hospital in Charleston. His mother, Roberta Dummitt, is a resort employee at Island Bites. Their immediate needs include housing and meals during an extended hospital stay, allowing Roberta to remain close and focused on supporting Syncera’s recovery.
Kristen McAlhaney, a server at OP Bar & Grille, is the mother of Amya Fields, who worked as a hostess at Bonito Boathouse.
Louie Carbonneau was a bartender at The Sandbar and also worked in Outside Services within the golf department.
The Resort will oversee the collection and distribution of all funds to ensure they are allocated thoughtfully and respectfully, based on the individual needs of each family.
Many members of our community have asked how they can help. This fund is intended to provide one place for those who wish to offer support.
Participation is entirely voluntary, and we are deeply grateful for the compassion and kindness extended to these families during this time.
