An Urgent Request For Fred – Friend, Poway Neighbor, Contractor, and dog whisperer!

If you know anything about Fred Hegrat, these pictures will be familiar to you. Fred is a husband, father, and grandfather. He is a contractor who has helped countless neighbors both here in Poway and across San Diego with their home improvements projects. Fred cares about his work and for those he works for. When Fred sees you walking your dog as he drives by in his truck, he will take his time to stop to say hello, and he will just happen to have a few doggy biscuits in his shirt pocket. That’s just who Fred is.

Now Fred needs our help. Fred recently had extensive surgery to deal with throat cancer. Even worse is that when he heals, he’ll need more surgery to remove a cancerous growth on his kidneys.

Because of these complications, Fred is unable to work. In fact, he’s not even able to speak right now. He has housing costs, food and household expenses, and rising medical bills.

A number of us – friends and neighbors of Fred - are pitching in to help Fred, and we ask you and others in the community to contribute whatever you can. Fred is a fellow Powegian who is in dire need of our support, and we hope you will find it in your heart to help a truly good man.
