Since the release of our podcast “Undercover Police Detective | What They Don’t Tell You!”, the response from the community has been overwhelming.
Thousands of people have reached out asking how they can support and donate to Darren — in recognition of the sacrifice he made protecting our nation’s children from online predators.
A role that ultimately led to him developing Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD).
Darren is a former UK undercover police detective who spent years working in counter-terrorism, organised crime, and child protection.
As part of that work, Darren was required to review hundreds of thousands of images and videos containing the darkest and most disturbing content imaginable — repeatedly, day after day — in order to identify offenders, gather evidence, and help rescue children who were being abused.
It is work most people could not endure once — let alone carry for years.
His efforts helped protect children, bring offenders to justice, and prevent further harm — but at an enormous personal and emotional cost.
When the weight of that work inevitably took its toll on his mental health, Darren was ultimately discarded by the very system he had served, left to carry the psychological damage of the job alone.
Following Darren’s recent appearance on the Beyond The Scope podcast, the same question has been asked repeatedly:
“How can we support Darren?”
This fundraiser exists to answer that call.
All funds raised will go directly to Darren Ryan:
• In recognition of his personal sacrifice and service
• To support his mental wellbeing after years on the frontline
• To help establish his future campaign focused on speaking out through education, prevention, and public awareness around child protection
Despite living with crippling flashbacks from the cases he worked on, Darren remains relentless in his mission — helping parents, communities, and young people better understand the risks, the realities, and — most importantly — how harm can be prevented.
He never sought recognition for this work.
But public support allows him to continue speaking out, educating others, and turning lived experience into prevention.
If you’ve watched, listened, or learned something that could help protect a child — this is your opportunity to stand behind that mission.
