My best friend. My family. My 18-year-old baby. It's cliche to say that Eppy is more than a cat, but it's also true. I found him in a parking lot as a kitten, then he moved to LA with me 10 years ago after my mother passed away. Since then, we've been inseparable; he got me through the toughest time in my life.
Now I'm working to get him through his. He has a history of heart disease and congestive heart failure. Fortunately, he was able to reverse his CHF a few years ago and stay out of it since. Now, however, he's battling kidney disease. Normally, the treatment for KD involves subcutaneous fluids, but because of his history with CHF, he's unable to have them. On top of that, he hasn't been eating well or taking his meds willingly. Now, we're staring down rechecks and additional testing. This is leading to lots of vet visits, tests, med adjustments, stress, and financial hardship on the ol' credit card.
As anyone with a pet knows, vet services are sooo costly. And we'll pay any price for our furry loved ones. Unfortunately, Eppy's bills are hitting me hard at the moment - over $2k spent in a week and a half. So, for my birthday this year, I'm asking for help to continue to give him the best care with his excellent team of vets, cardiologists, and internists. This is definitely a hard ask - but here I am anyway. And I thank you for reading and giving, if anything, a lovely healing thought Eppy's way.
