Supporting Emily After the Loss of Her Husband, Martin

We are coming together as a community to support Emily during an unimaginable and heartbreaking time.

Emily recently lost her husband, Martin—lovingly known as Marty. This sudden and devastating loss has left Emily grieving the love of her life while also facing significant financial hardship. At this time, she is unable to work and has no income, yet she is responsible for funeral expenses and ongoing household bills as she begins to navigate life without her partner.

Emily and Marty have given so much of themselves to others. Emily is widely known within our rescue and animal welfare community as a trusted resource and advocate for cats. She is often referred to as the “cat guru.” She has consistently stepped in to help save cats in need, guide fosters, and provide support and education to countless individuals seeking help for their pets.

Marty was always by her side, serving as her steady support system. He has helped bottle-feed numerious neonatal kittens and puppies, cared for their animals, and quietly stepped in whenever help was needed. Together, they embodied compassion, generosity, and selflessness.

This loss will be felt deeply throughout the community they served.

This fundraiser has been created to help relieve the financial burden Emily is facing so she can focus on grieving, healing, and caring for herself and her animals, without the added stress of wondering how essential bills will be paid or how daily needs will be met.

Funds raised will help with:

- Funeral and memorial expenses

- Mortgage and household bills

- Groceries and basic living necessities

- Care and food for her fosters and pets

This fundraiser is organized by A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue (ARAR). Emily is part of our rescue family and does so much for us every single day. She gives her time, her knowledge, and her heart freely, never asking for anything in return. In this heartbreaking moment, it is our turn to show her that she is supported, loved, and not alone. All funds raised will go directly toward helping Emily with funeral expenses and everyday needs so she can focus on grieving, healing, and taking care of herself during this incredibly difficult time.
