Supporting Destiny on her next battle

Donation protected
On Good Friday (18th of April) our Daughter Destiny/Natalie was admitted to Bournemouth Hospital after being unwell for over a month and going back and forth to A&E! Once admitted to the surgical ward she rapidly deteriorated and had to be retrieved from the ward and moved to ITU where she was ventilated.

On Easter Sunday she went down for emergency surgery and once they opened her up they saw that she had intestinal ischemia effecting over 2 metres of her bowels which was poisoning her. Thankfully the surgeons were able to successfully remove the dead bowel and 2 days later they took her back to theatre to create an ileostomy and also a fistula.

It was a parents worst nightmare seeing your child so poorly .
On Easter Sunday we were informed by her surgeon and consultant just how poorly she was and how she would be very lucky to make it out of hospital alive!! But anyone who knows Destiny will know she is a fighter and she was not going to give up!!

Thankfully after 10 days in ITU she was well enough to be moved back to the surgical ward to continue her recovery. It’s not been an easy journey at all but she is doing amazingly well, shocking everyone with her progress and she has been working toward being discharged home!
However a couple of days ago we were informed by her Surgeon that she would need another surgery in 6-8 weeks time due to her bowels not absorbing anything and she would be unable to go home during this time due to her requirement for TPN and IV pain relief!

As you can imagine this has been a huge blow for us all as we are desperate to have her home and after being an inpatient for 5 weeks already she is struggling with her mental health!

Anyone who knows Destiny personally or has followed her cancer journey through social media will know she really has had a rough time with her health over the last 5 years but she is the most determined person and we all know that she will refuse to let anything beat her!

As her Mum Iv had hundreds of messages from people who have been concerned about her, wanting to send their best wishes and prayers and lots of you have also expressed their wishes to send her cards, presents and flowers , which is so thoughtful but as you can all understand sadly while stuck in a small hospital room she cannot accept anything right now and with her expected to remain in hospital for another 10-12 weeks it will be a long time till she is in a position to accept these kind gifts.

Therefore I wanted to set up a go fund me page for anyone who wishes to send a small donation (instead of sending in a gift or flowers) and the money raised will help support her through the rest of her hospital admission and recovery and to help her financially until she can return to work. It would be nice also to treat herself to something nice when she does finally make’s it home!

From Destiny herself and us as a family we want to thank every single person who has sent any well wishes and prayers for her! This journey is far from over so we really do appreciate your ongoing support during this very difficult time.

Thank you for any donations and we will keep you all updated on her progress
