Many of you will know Dave Mansell as the friendly face at the heart of our tennis community.

As a coach and Racquets Manager, Dave has spent years supporting players, parents, juniors and teams, always giving his time, energy and kindness to others. Whether organising events, coaching, supporting charity fundraisers or simply being there for people, Dave is someone who has always shown up for our community.

Recently, Dave received the devastating news that he has bowel cancer.

After undergoing surgery, doctors have successfully removed the tumour and Dave will now begin chemotherapy as part of his recovery and treatment. His diagnosis is a Stage 2 locally advanced tumour (T4 N1 M0).

While everyone is staying positive and hopeful about his recovery, the reality is that cancer brings huge emotional, physical and financial pressures for any family.

Dave is partially self employed, with coaching lessons making up a significant part of his income. As he takes time away from work to recover and undergo treatment, we would love as a community to help ease some of the financial worry so he can focus fully on getting better.

Dave and his wife Liz are also raising their two beautiful little boys, Ted (4) and baby Ron (6 months).

This fundraiser is to help support the family through the months ahead with some of the unexpected costs that come with cancer treatment and recovery, including:

Anyone who knows Dave knows how much he gives to others. Earlier this year alone, Dave personally raised over £1,500 for Bright Ideas for Tennis and helped our tennis community raise over £20,000 for charity.
