We are raising funds to support our dear friend Daniel after the sudden and devastating loss of his partner Jono Ross.

Daniel and Jono shared a love that was deeply special. They were about to take the next step in their lives together planning to move in and build a future side by side. Jono’s passing was completely unexpected and Daniel is now navigating unimaginable grief while also facing significant financial health and mental health challenges.

Over the past few months Daniel has been dealing with a severe wisdom tooth infection and a long wait for urgent surgery. This has meant he hasn’t been able to work consistently and his health has had to come first.

Daniel also has a heart condition which means he must see a cardiologist before he can safely undergo dental surgery making this process more complex and urgent.

Jono was due to move in soon to help support Daniel during this time and to begin their life together. Losing that future has been heartbreaking.

Right now Daniel needs practical and emotional support to get through the next 12 weeks while he focuses on his physical health mental wellbeing and grief.

Our goal of $9,000 will help cover essential living and medical costs during this period and give him space to stabilise.

Funds raised will go towards:

    •    Rent: $345 per week (we will be making bulk payments to cover 12 weeks)

    •    electricity and phone bills

    •    ambulance bill

    •    Medications and medical appointments

    •    Food and basic living costs

    •    Specialist care including a cardiologist to support his urgent dental surgery

    •    Mental health support and therapy

We are also helping Daniel get set up with Centrelink but this process takes time and support is needed immediately.

Daniel is a much-loved member of the LGBTQIA+ community and a strong advocate for others. He has always shown up for people with kindness compassion and care. Now we have the opportunity to show up for him.

Any contribution no matter how small will help relieve the financial pressure so Daniel can focus on healing grieving and rebuilding his life.
