It hurts my heart to say that my dad has passed last Sunday night, February 1st. Damian, or others that still called him Hiep, was just weeks shy of his 50th birthday. Over the decades, his health was touched by misfortune when it all started at the age of 31. His mind remained sharp but his body was declining since then. He fought the longest fight, with the strongest heart that I’ve ever known.
My dad suffered from a brain hemorrhage, causing him to lose all function and leaving him unable to breathe on his own. His last day here with us was spent surrounded by all of his family and friends, near and far. For that, I couldn’t be more blessed for the love and compassion that my dad continues to receive.
In the wake of this sudden and unexpected loss, I kindly ask for any support you may be able to offer as my family and I prepare to lay my dad to his final resting place. Whether through a contribution toward his memorial service, sharing this message to raise awareness, or simply showing up to support our family, it would mean more to us than words can express.
We will be holding his funeral service on Saturday February 14th, 2026 at Anderson McQueen Funeral Home (7820 38th Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710).
Family viewing and visitation will begin at 9am, friends and others welcome to arrive at 10am. The service will follow at 11am.
We truly appreciate all of your support, thank you.
