My name is Cody Barham. I’m making this GoFundMe for Michael Dameron, who I've known for 20 years. We first met in Fort Lewis, Washington in 2005 and served in Germany and a tour in Iraq for 18 months together. We have stayed in contact ever since. Dameron stood on honor and morality even back when we were youngsters and at our worst. He left the Army honorably as an E6. He’s been a husband for the last 10 years and a father. He and his wife suffered the loss of a child, and that’s a pain I don’t ever wish to experience.

Many know me; I stand on protecting children at all costs. I’ll die for mine & I’ll die for yours, and Dameron is the same. Now that he is seeking a divorce, many accusations have been laid out against him. It’s not my place to speak on legalities, but he’s willing to tell the story if you are willing to listen, or write/call me and I can divulge the story. This man has lived in an oil field camp for over a year so his wife can live in a nice home and spend his money on nice things and kids. When he goes across Texas to see his kids, he sleeps in his car to keep the peace and stay clear of his soon-to-be ex-wife. And now that the accounts and divorce are close to coming through, his name is being thrown in mud and investigations are ongoing. I don’t think it’s fair. I don’t believe it for a second, and my hope is we support this man to clear his name and move on with his life. If this all clears up, my home is open to him as well. That’s how much I believe in him and not what is being said. I hope we stand behind our brother and remember the teammate he was to us then and now.

Money will be used in paying bail for this situation, driving back and forth across Texas to clear all allegations that detectives have requested meetings for. They have asked him to show for, which he has and is traveling to another one as I write this. And a start to legal representation or at least guidance.
