Hello, My name is Lisa and I have had the great pleasure of being friends with Courtney since we were about six years old. She has always been the most beautiful vibrant funny girl. In August of 2011 she was diagnosed with Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma. Only 200 people world wide are diagnosed each year. She was told this was a slow growing rare cancer but that she had lots of time. In November of 2011 she was rushed in for a liver resection and remained in hospital for a month a half.  Two years later the cancer was back, by June 1st 2015 Courtney received a living donor transplant, she was hospitalized for 2.5 months. For six years she lived comfortably and had a beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately too soon after the birth of her daughter she was informed the cancer was back, it breaks my heart to tell you the cancer has returned at a stage four terminal liver cancer that has metastasized to the lungs as well as her blood, which will continue to return. Courtney has been undergoing chemo as well as some other expensive medications to buy herself some more time to spend with her beautiful 14 month old daughter and incredible supportive partner Lorence. We are looking for donations to help support the family with the medical costs and to help Courtney, as she is still currently on mat leave and is due to return in March but with no plan of returning due to the cancer. Lorence, has been caring for Courtney and the baby so has only been able to work minimal hours, (bless his heart), to have opportunity to make a few memories with her family.
