Corie Pittman is an amazing single mother raising two twin 13yr old girls.
She is now facing every woman’s worst nightmare a stage 2 breast cancer diagnosis.
Corie is 46yrs old, despite already having many health issues heart problems, 2 auto immune diseases and COPD she has always worked hard to support herself and provide for her 2 girls.
Recently when walking home Corie was hit by a car which put her off work, while for the most part she was ok it was during her hospital stay for this incident a CT scan was completed where a lump was discovered in her breast.
She was quickly referred for a mammogram and from that swiftly to a biopsy.
While awaiting those results, she ended up back in hospital with a major infection in her saliva glands believed to be unrelated to the diagnosis.
During this stay the Doctor came to Corie to check if her GP had spoken to her regarding her biopsy results and delivered the words no one wants to hear “You have breast cancer.” A stage 2 breast carcinoma.
Corie is now facing an uncertain journey no women should face.
Anyone who knows Corie knows she is strong and determined even in the face of a devastating diagnosis, she is choosing to fight — for herself and for her girls who need their mom.
Why Support Is Needed
This diagnosis brings significant medical expenses along with the challenge of covering everyday living costs while now not working.
Donations will help cover out of pocket medical expenses not fully covered by Medicare, ongoing treatment/tests along with everyday living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and basic household bills and travel.
This fundraiser is one way we can try to lift a piece of the burden that Corie and her young girls are now carrying, so they can focus on what matters most right now: her treat and being together as a family.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page helps reach others who can.
We ask that donation be made via Payid 0451 518 187 noting as a reference CPittman. This way all funds raised go direct to Corie and her girls to help make day to day life easier while she continues her fight with cancer.
