My name is Ryan, and I have the privilege of being Colton's cousin. If you know Colton, you know his faith, determination, and love for others. At just 22 years old, he proudly serves in the Air National Guard, recently returning from a six-month deployment to the Middle East. He has a passion for motocross, enjoys encouraging those around him, and hopes to one day serve in ministry.
Just days before his 22nd birthday, Colton's life changed in an instant. A dirt bike accident left him with a severe spinal cord injury, multiple broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. While he continues to recover from those injuries, he is now facing paralysis from the waist down and the challenges of a lifelong spinal cord injury. What has inspired everyone around him is not the severity of his injuries—it is the strength of his faith. Through every challenge, Colton has remained steadfast in his trust in God and continues to face the future with courage, determination, and hope.
In the coming days, Colton will travel by medical flight to Craig Hospital in Colorado for intensive rehabilitation. His father, Bruce, will be by his side throughout this process as they begin the next phase of Colton's recovery journey. After many friends, family members, coworkers, church members, and members of the community asked how they could help, this fundraiser was created to support Colton's rehabilitation, travel expenses, adaptive equipment, home modifications, ongoing medical needs, and the many challenges that accompany long-term recovery and independence. His fiancée, Chloe, has remained faithfully by his side throughout this journey, and your support will help ease some of the burdens facing Colton and his family in the months and years ahead.
