SUPPORTING COLLEEN'S FIGHT AGAINST LUNG CANCER
Supporting Colleen’s Fight Against Lung Cancer
The past few months have presented an unforeseen challenge for Colleen Cooney. Without warning she was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Within two weeks of diagnosis she began chemo and radiation treatments. Colleen has also experienced some setbacks that had required a hospital stay. Cancer treatments have taken a toll both physically and emotionally. The cost of cancer is hard for all families to bear. The treatment costs are astronomical and insurance only covers a portion of those costs. To allow Colleen to focus on her well-being, her friends are starting a GO-FUND-ME account to raise money to help with growing medical bills. Colleen still has a long road ahead of her and more treatments in the coming months.
Our goal is to raise $ 15,000 to help with the mounting medical payments. It is very hard for Colleen to ask for help. Her career in the Human Services field has included working helping people with challenges and disabilities. She has always championed and fought for the underdog. It is her time to receive some help from her friends.
You may have encountered Colleen in her many paths through life. You may be a life long friend, a college friend, a co-worker, a neighbor, acquaintance or relative. We have been blessed with her wonderful personality and loving spirit.
To know is Colleen is to love her.
Colleen is an amazing wife, step mom, sister, aunt (AC) and friend. She loves her cats, the Michigan Wolverines, Ireland, her Irish family, the beach , her grand-nieces ( who adore her ), and shoes.
You may have been lucky enough to catch Colleen Solid Gold dancing at the Little P in Avalon. You probably laughed out loud as you shared beers and listened to her many stories and adventures.
To know Colleen is to love Colleen.
Cancer treatment is not an easy road. Colleen will continue to face many more challenges over the next year. We want to thank you for gifting what you can. Any gift will ease some of the financial stress that has impacted Colleen and Michael.
May God give you ….
For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise, and the blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends a faithful friend to share, for every sign a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.
