Supporting Christine through critical care and recovery
Donation protected
Dear friends and compassionate community,
We are reaching out to you today with a heartfelt request for support for our dear friend/family, Christine, a devoted single mother, talented hairdresser, and beloved member of the Williams Lake community. Christine has always been there for others, offering her warmth, kindness, and skills to help those in need. Now, she needs our help.
Christine's Story (updated)
On November 6, 2024, while heading home after dropping her daughter off at school, Christine experienced a severe car accident. She hit a patch of black ice on the highway, lost control of her truck, and rolled it multiple times off the road. Christine was ejected from the vehicle about 60 feet where she laid the snow for a few hours before the ambulance got there. Christine was taken to the Williams Lake Hospital where they immediately had her air transported to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. There, she spent 40 days in the ICU battling for her life with multiple serious injuries and multi-organ failure. Christine has undergone numerous major surgeries, and the path to recovery be long and arduous.
We are deeply thankful to the neighbors and first responders who were instrumental in saving her life at the accident site. Our sincere appreciation also extends to the committed doctors, surgeons, and nurses who have tirelessly worked to ensure her survival and aid in her recovery. Thanks to the exceptional healthcare team at RIH, Christine has recently moved from the ICU to the Trauma Ward, where she will continue her healing journey!
Christine is a single mother to a wonderful 9-year-old daughter who is navigating this difficult time alongside her family. Currently, she is living with her dad and grandparents in the Lower Mainland and has begun attending school there. Additionally, she has taken up Karate and recently participated in the school Christmas Concert. She's also been making new friends with ease! Thanks to the support of her father and grandparents, she is adapting quite well!
How You Can Help
As Christine continues her journey through recovery we want to ensure that her life outside the hospital remains intact and she gets the support she needs. Christine's responsibilities include:
**Mortgage Payments**: Ensuring her family home is safe and secure.
**Animal Care**: Providing care for her beloved pets—her dogs, cats, and horses
**Colt Barbershop Lease**: Sustaining her business, which has been a cornerstone of the community.
**Utilities** Maintaining her existing bills such as phone, hydro, gas, etc.
**Overall Support** Just helping Christine with support wherever she needs it.
Christine has always given so much to others, hosting fundraisers and offering free services to firefighters, military personnel, and first responders. Now, it's our turn to give back to someone who has touched so many lives with her generosity and spirit.
Your Contribution
Any contribution you can make will go directly towards helping maintain Christine’s livelihood and responsibilities during this incredibly difficult time. It will also go towards overall support and helping her family be near her too. Sharing this page with others who may be able to help is also greatly appreciated.
Let's rally together to support Christine and show her the love and compassion that she has always shown to others. With your help, we can give Christine a fighting chance to rebuild her life and return to her community and loved ones.
Thank you from our family
Our family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported us during this journey, whether through donations, encouragement, or keeping Christine in your thoughts and prayers. The kindness and support we have received has been truly incredible and a true blessing. We could not have navigated this challenging time without each and every one of you.
