Charlotte and Chris are parents to Adam, a delightful little boy who, after surviving Group B Strep meningitis as a newborn, has complex special educational needs. Recently, Chris has been diagnosed with renal (kidney) cancer which has spread to his bones and brain, and this affects this family in so many ways. One of the consequences of this diagnosis is financial. Chris is self employed and cannot work. Also, while Chris and Charlotte are managing Chris's treatment, they will at times need specialist respite care for Adam and this will be costly.
