Supporting children after loss
Donation protected
Hello, I'm Leah Jordan, the owner of a small business in Spokane, WA, where Savanah Gilliam works. On September 15th, tragedy struck as Savannah's children's father took his own life. The relationship had just ended, and Savanah, along with her daughters, moved into a new apartment. This devastating news has left Savannah needing time at home to help her two daughters heal and provide them with much-needed support.
As her employer, I'm doing everything I can to support her, but it's not enough. We need our community to come together and uplift this family during this challenging time. Savanah is now the sole provider and parent to her two daughters, aged 7 and 3, with one having special needs. It's crucial for her to be there for them during this difficult period.
Due to this heartbreaking situation, Savanah has had to take time off work. She's facing the pressure of covering a $1400 rent bill, and unfortunately, this situation isn't covered by Paid Family Leave. Her only alternative would be to rush back to work, and I want to provide her with a better option.
I'm initiating this fundraiser to give Savanah the opportunity to take the time she needs to grieve and support her daughters. With the holiday season approaching, it's going to be an even more challenging time for them. Not only will the girls be missing their father, but with Savanah's sole income and significant bills, I want to ensure this family is taken care of.
Please consider donating and supporting this grieving family during this incredibly difficult time. Your generosity will make a significant difference in their lives.
