Supporting Charlotte’s Family

Taken from Amanda- Charlotte’s Sister — During this time we all have many questions surrounding charlottes death. Some I fear we may never have answered. But at the time we know that she came home from her yoga retreat and went swimming that night in lake behind her house and did not come back out of the water. Some of her very close and true friends took action once they heard she was still missing and notified police and us (the family). After a couple days of search and rescue her body was recovered from the lake. There is still an ongoing investigation.

I am in TN with her kids who were in my care at the time of the incident and will remain in our care god willing. They will be coming home to WV to be with the family and loved and nurtured and reminded every day how much their beautiful momma loved them. My sister Kelsey and brother Rodney joined us here in TN to help wrap up some things and bring charlottes belongings home.

Funeral arrangements are in process but I have no information yet. Please understand this is a very hard time for us (the family) and we are being bombarded with questions and hearsay and lots of unnecessary stress. We all love charlotte dearly and I know this is so shocking to us all but please be respectful and give our family time to process. We will let everyone know more as we know more.

I am not able to respond to every call and message as I am in direct contact with law enforcement and lawyers and tying up loose ends down here in TN while also caring for her sweet kids. That has to be my main focus right now. We hope to be home in WV with the rest of the family as soon as possible.

The kids know that mommy had a swimming accident and is no longer with us. They are taking it as well as can be expected. MY priority right now is to get them home to family and begin making a loving and nurturing home for them to be raised in and reminded always how much their mom loved them and that we are here for them always.

Thank you for the outpouring of prayers and generosity. Everything from bringing us meals at the hotel and helping me get all of charlottes belongings packed up. I am so sorry because I know I am missing calls and messages and I am not able to be there for other people or answer all the questions at this time. Be patient with me please.
