We are reaching out with love and urgency to rally around our dear friend, Charlie Palaguachi. Charlie’s journey this year has been one of immense strength, faith, and resilience. In April 2024, he began experiencing leg pain and was soon faced with devastating news: a recurrence of Liposarcoma, a very rare and aggressive cancer. For months, his determination and spirit kept him steady.
But in December, the tumor grew rapidly, threatening his organs and causing unbearable pain and exhaustion. On December 16th, Charlie underwent a grueling 12-hour emergency surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering. The procedure was incredibly complex due to the tumor’s size and location. The surgeons worked miraculously to detach the tumor from around organs and nerves. The cancer had not spread to the kidney, colon, or liver—great news—but nonetheless, parts of these had to be removed because the tumor was wrapped around them. Charlie received 8 pints of blood. Now, the doctors are optimistic about the success of the surgery and Charlie’s journey to long-term remission. But Charlie faces a long and challenging road to recovery.
We want to ensure Charlie has the time and space to heal fully, without the stress of returning to work prematurely. Recently, he landed a great job driving a city bus in NYC, but his health must come first. Charlie has always been the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Now, it’s our turn to give back to him.
Your donation will directly support Charlie as he focuses on healing.
Funds will go towards:
-Medical bills and follow-up care
-Living expenses during his time off work
-Essential herbal support for his recovery journey
Please join us in showing Charlie the love and care he has always given so freely. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Let’s help Charlie heal and remind him he’s not alone in this fight. Thank you for your generosity and love ❤️
