In Loving Memory of Chandler David Quinney

Donation protected
Dear friends and family:

We write to you with the news that our beloved Chandler has finally beat cancer. Our superman gained his wings on August 23, 2022, surrounded by family. He fought for so long, went through so much, and is now pain-free, resting in the arms of God.

Thanks to everyone who has been with us on this journey and prayed for his recovery.

Heaven gained a warrior!
#MrBowTie #TeamChandler #Legoman

We are asking to lessen his parents' load while they prepare to bury their baby boy; any donation you can make in his honor is greatly appreciated.

Again, thanks to all of Chandler's prayer warriors.

With love & appreciation, the Quinney & Valsin Families

We are raising funds in the name of our son, brother, nephew, cousin, our Superman, Chandler David Quinney. He is fighting a battle that no child should have to fight - the fight against cancer…for the 2nd time.

Chandler is a happy, soon-to-be 11-year-old in the 5th grade at St. Martinville Primary. He loves spending quality time with his family. He LOVES building Lego sets; in fact, he is known as the Lego Master.

In December of 2013, Chandler was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor. He went through months of chemotherapy and radiation and came out on the other side "cancer-free."

Fast forward to 2022, his parents noticed a significant lump on his side and brought him to his primary physician, who then sent them directly to the emergency room. The many scans & tests determined there were four (4) masses on his side and spine.

The biopsy later determined that the tumors were malignant and appeared to be aggressive.

It is impossible to put into words the pain felt in receiving such heart-breaking news…Cancer has reared its ugly head once again. As you can imagine, we’re all shocked and devastated. But we're all PRAYED UP and geared up to help Chandler fight this battle and WIN!

Shortly after this diagnosis, he was scheduled for surgery to remove the tumors. The surgery was a success, and there was no nerve damage to his leg. He then began intense rounds of chemotherapy at the St. Jude’s Affiliate, Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge.

Continued tests and scans determined that there were more tumors growing, which meant another surgery, which has been scheduled for May 2022 to remove as much of the cancer as possible.

Chandler is now receiving treatment at the St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis for the foreseeable future. This can only be described as an emotional roller coaster for Chandler, his parents, siblings, and extended family.

He has been incredibly strong throughout this whole time and has been an inspiration to us all.

He's got a long road ahead of him, so let's help him and his family out.

Over the upcoming days, weeks, and months ahead, they will need to be at countless doctor appointments, prolonged hospital stays, and surgeries.

#TeamChandler has started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden of his parents, Mark and Shontell Quinney. Chandler’s dad has taken an extended leave from work so that they can both support and take care of the needs of Chandler, his twin Chance and their two younger siblings living at home.

The money raised will go towards expenses that will quickly add up, weekly trips out of town/state to the hospitals (Baton Rouge and Memphis, TN), and essentials their family might need.

We truly appreciate you taking the time to read through Chandler’s journey. Any donation is greatly appreciated as it will help ease the financial strain that comes with this devastating news over the coming months.

Thank you so much!

Please continue to keep Chandler and his family lifted in your prayers!
