On Thursday, February 26, our lives changed in an instant.

That morning was completely normal. We celebrated Rocco’s 13th birthday, sang happy birthday together, and went about our usual routines. Joe drove Rocco to school like he always did and headed to work. Sometime between 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., Joe unexpectedly collapsed in his office. He was only 44 years old.

Even with a history of heart disease, his passing was sudden and completely unexpected.

Joe’s personality was larger than life. He was unapologetically himself; incredibly funny, magnetic, and the kind of person everyone gravitated toward. He was often everybody’s favorite person in the room. He would do anything for anyone without hesitation. If you needed help, advice, tech support, or just someone to make you laugh, Joe showed up.

Above all, he was a devoted husband and an extraordinary father. He loved his children fiercely and was present for them every single day, from school drop-offs to bedtime conversations and everything in between.

A Catholic Church service will be held on Friday, March 6 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Basil the Great in Brecksville, Ohio, as we gather to honor and celebrate his life.

Several friends and coworkers who loved Joe reached out and encouraged us to create this GoFundMe as a way for those who have asked how to help to show their support. Your generosity will provide stability for our family as we navigate this sudden loss and begin adjusting to life without Joe. Most importantly, it will help ensure that Rocco and Roma feel secure and supported in the days and months ahead.
