Supporting Carrie Stetson’s Children and the Railway Cafe Family
Our community is mourning the heartbreaking and tragic loss of Carrie Stetson—a devoted mother, beloved friend, passionate animal advocate, successful small business owner, and the heart and soul behind Railway Cafe.
There are some people whose presence feels like sunshine—warm, welcoming, and impossible to forget. Carrie was one of those people.
Her beautiful smile, generous spirit, and genuine kindness touched countless lives. Whether she was helping a fellow business owner, welcoming customers into Railway Cafe, supporting local organizations, fostering animals in need, or simply offering encouragement to someone having a difficult day, Carrie showed up for people. She gave freely of herself, expecting nothing in return.
Above all else, Carrie loved her three children, Piper, Ben, and Nicole. They were her greatest pride and the center of her world. Everything she built, every long day she worked, and every dream she pursued was rooted in her love for them.
Carrie’s impact reached far beyond the walls of Railway Cafe. She championed local causes, supported fellow entrepreneurs, fostered rescue cats, donated her time and resources to organizations in need, and cheered on anyone trying to make the world a little better. She loved animals deeply, often bringing leftovers from her restaurant to feed farm animals she visited. Whether it was a rescue cat, a local nonprofit, a neighboring business, or a friend facing a challenge, Carrie was always ready to help.
Railway Cafe was much more than a restaurant. It was a gathering place, a second home, and a reflection of Carrie herself. Through her vision, warmth, and dedication, she created a place where customers became friends, employees became family, and everyone who walked through the door felt welcome.
Today, her children face an unimaginable future without their mother. At the same time, the dedicated team at Railway Cafe is grieving the loss of the woman who mentored, encouraged, and cared for them while facing the challenge of carrying her legacy forward.
This fund has been established to support Piper, Ben, and Nicole as they navigate the emotional and financial challenges that lie ahead. Funds will also help provide stability and support for the Railway Cafe staff and operations during this difficult transition, helping preserve the business and community that Carrie worked so hard to build.
Carrie helped make our town a stronger, kinder, and more connected place. She was woven into the fabric of this community. Her hospitality was genuine, her generosity was legendary, and her kindness reached farther than most people ever knew.
The outpouring of love since her passing has revealed just how many lives she touched. Friends remember her willingness to help. Customers remember the warmth she brought to every interaction.
