Supporting Carmen's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On Saturday, December 9th, my mom, Carmen Gensollen, was heading home from work when her car was involved in a four-car collision on the Florida Turnpike. Thankfully, no one else sustained serious injuries, but Carmen bore the brunt of the impact. Her seatbelt ripped her bowel, she fractured ribs and broke her shoulder, and she struck her head on the dashboard. The trauma was immense, and doctors immediately put her into a medically induced coma for vital surgeries. One repaired the internal bleeding and prevented septic shock, while another meticulously reconstructed her bowel. Finally, on Sunday, Carmen woke up in the ICU, her journey to recovery slowly beginning. On Monday, they moved her out to a regular room, and just today, she was able to have the NG tube removed, another small victory in her fight back to health. The doctor is optimistic about her full recovery, though it will be a long road with physical therapy and rehabilitation. But through it all, Carmen has shown incredible strength and determination. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support and believe she'll be back to her vibrant self soon.
Throughout this ordeal, my dad, Marco Vera, has been her rock. He's put all his time and energy into supporting my mom's recovery and seeking justice for what happened. But the stress and financial burden are immense.
I'm bringing this to your attention because I want to help. We will be using this money towards medical bills, lost wages, and adjustments needed for safe and comfortable recovery at home.
Every little bit helps. By contributing, you can ease the financial worries and allow Marco to focus on what matters most: helping Carmen heal.
Thank you for your compassion and support. Together, we can help my mom, Carmen on her road to recovery.
