We are a group of firefighters coming together to support one of our own — Captain Shaun Davis, a dedicated member of the Los Angeles Fire Department for 26 years.

Captain Davis has spent his career serving the people of Los Angeles with commitment, courage, and pride. Many of us know him from his years as an Engineer at 9’s in Downtown LA, and more recently as Captain at Fire Station 104s in Winnetka. Fire service runs deep in his family — his grandfather also served with the LAFD — and Shaun has carried that legacy forward with honor throughout his career.

In October 2025, at just 49 years old, Shaun was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Since then, he has undergone radiation and is currently in the midst of chemotherapy, with ongoing scans to monitor his progress. His treatment will continue for many months ahead.

At this time, Shaun’s prognosis remains uncertain. He is awaiting the completion of chemotherapy so that follow-up scans can determine how effective the treatment has been and what next steps may be needed, including the possibility of surgery. What is clear, however, is Shaun’s determination — he is fully committed to his recovery and looks forward to returning to the career he loves as soon as he is able.

As a result of his treatment, Captain Davis has been unable to work and is exhausting his benefits. He faces a long road ahead, both medically and financially.

Anyone who knows Shaun understands his strength, resilience, and positive spirit. He is fighting hard and staying strong, but asking for help does not come easily to him. Out of respect for his humility and dedication, we have created this GoFundMe on his behalf.

All donations will go directly to Shaun to help support essential expenses during his treatment and recovery.

We ask our community, family, friends, and extended fire family to rally together for a man who has spent his life showing up for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
