Supporting Caleb Through His Transplant
Donation protected
From Shea:
I want to say thank you for the overwhelming love and support, the visits, messages, meals, flowers, donations. Thank you will probably never feel like it’s good enough. Caleb never met a stranger, and that’s been so evident, especially on Thursday. I’ve always admired his ability to connect with people, his selflessness, and his beautiful heart - but to see the community he built and the genuine impact he made is surreal. He was so deeply loved.
I’ve tried all week to make this post and thank everyone personally, but words are hard and this grief feels a lot like drowning. When we learned that Caleb was sick, we were given what seemed like a perfect plan, and then we waited on a big, beautiful gift that couldn’t come soon enough, and now I just don’t know how to make any sense of anything. We had so much hope. And now all I know is that my heart aches for my best friend.

I’m reaching out to ask for support for Caleb and Shea during an unexpected health crisis. Recently, Caleb was admitted to UAB with a MELD score of 40. This puts patients on an emergent transplant list with an expectancy of a new organ within days to weeks. Due to his condition, he will remain at UAB until he receives the organ transplant and through the recovery process. The physical and emotional toll has been incredibly challenging, but I wanted to create a GoFundMe to help relieve some of the financial burden for Caleb and Shea.
Any donation—no matter how small—would make a significant difference. Your support will go directly toward:
• Medical bills and prescriptions
• Rent and utilities during the recovery period in which they are required to stay near the hospital
• Groceries and basic necessities
Even if you’re unable to donate, please pray for Caleb as he undergoes surgery and for the recovery ahead.
