Supporting Butte County

Over 7,600 homes and businesses have been destroyed. Not damaged. Destroyed.

By this time, I'm sure you've heard of the Camp Fire that spread across Butte County and reduced the town of Paradise to ashes. What you might not know is that I've been going up to Paradise every year on an annual camping trip that my G-pa puts on. As of now, we're not sure if there's anything left of the cabin my family's been visiting since I was kid.

You also might not know that my aunt is a faculty member at Butte College and that she and my uncle live in Chico, right on the outskirts of Butte and the Camp Fire. I spoke with them tonight and they told me they've been collecting supplies for those whose homes were destroyed and now living in shelters across Chico. These people are in severe need and need our help now.

As my aunt and uncle are on the front lines up there in Chico, I want to help provide them with resources to supply those directly affected by these fires. They said what people most need at this point are clothes, cleansing wipes, and masks, as many of the people in shelters were unable to leave with anything but the clothes on their backs. That's what these funds will go towards: Amazon Prime-ing these supplies up to Chico. So no matter the amount, it's appreciated. Stay safe out there. Please donate today.
