This summer we are delighted to welcome back Guo Xing Bhikshuni (Fashi) for the third year running. It is always a special thing to have Buddhist nuns here with us in Ireland, and this year we are particularly glad to also be welcoming Chang Di Fashi, joining us for the first time from Dharma Drum Mountain. Together they will lead a full programme of Chan events running from early July through to early August, including Dublin events, a Family Camp, a seven day retreat (this year in Sunyata Retreat Centre in County Clare), and day workshops.

We have been moved that a number of people have reached out wanting to support this programme but who are unable to join us in person. In response, we have set up this page as a way for friends near and far to contribute if they feel moved to do so.

What this fund is for

The retreats and events themselves are offered on a dana basis - participants contribute what they can toward the cost of their stay. This fund is separate from that. It is to help us cover some of the upfront and running costs involved in organising the event, including:

• Groceries and food supplies for the retreats

• Rental of a large marquee to accommodate everyone comfortably

• Transport and travel costs for our monastic teachers

• Fuel and other practical logistics

• A small reserve to help ensure these retreats remain accessible to everyone, regardless of their financial situation

Sunyata Retreat Centre has not been running retreats this past year, which means the usual income that helps support these costs has not been there. We want to ease that burden where we can and ensure the retreat can run as smoothly and openly as possible.

Any amount helps

The figures here are estimates — we are not asking for anything specific. If you believe in this kind of work, if you have benefited from these retreats in the past, or if you simply want to offer some goodwill to the families and practitioners gathering this summer, any contribution is genuinely appreciated.
