This past weekend, my friend’s partner was involved in a serious off highway vehicle accident near Peace River. He suffered a devastating leg injury and was brought to Grande Prairie for emergency surgery. The damage to his leg is extensive, and doctors are working hard to prevent infection and repair the limb. He will need additional surgeries in Grande Prairie to clean the wound and repair the bones. Eventually, he will have to travel to Edmonton for specialized care, likely including plastic surgery. They have been told to expect a long journey toward healing and recovery.

He was the sole provider for himself and his girlfriend, who is currently in school studying to become an LPN. With Remi unable to work, and his girlfriend in full-time studies the added burden of medical travel, recovery expenses, and lost income, they’re facing a lot of financial stress on top of an already heartbreaking situation. His girlfriend will be returning to work part time to also secure any additional income she can during this time.
