On February 6, Brennon Saunders, a lifelong resident of Reedville and the oldest son of Chris and Tina Saunders, was seriously injured in a skiing accident in Lake Placid, New York. He was airlifted to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, where he underwent immediate spinal surgery to repair extensive damage. He also sustained a brain bleed, fractured sternum, and lung trauma.
Brennon is currently stable and recovering in Vermont, facing a long and challenging road ahead. The next step in his recovery will be medical transport to Sheltering Arms Institute in Richmond, Virginia, where he will begin intensive physical therapy for what is expected to be an extended rehabilitation process.
In support of Brennon, a GoFundMe page has been established to accept donations to help with the financial costs that accompany such a life-altering injury.
Anyone who knows Brennon knows his strength, determination, and the way he shows up for others. Now, as a community, we have the opportunity to show up for him. He is surrounded by an incredible support system of family and friends, and that circle continues to grow.
All proceeds will go directly to Brennon to assist with medical expenses and other costs not covered by insurance. Donations may be made via the GoFundMe page, or donations can be dropped off at Jett's Marine, Inc. or Rittenhouse/Moxie Salon. If donating by check, please make the check payable to Brennon Saunders.
Please continue to keep Brennon in your thoughts and prayers as we surround him with strength, hope, and encouragement for a speedy recovery and the journey ahead.
