My name is Stephen and I'm running the Falmouth Road Race to raise money and awareness for The Bourne Substance Free Coalition.
The Bourne Substance Free Coalition provides educational programs to the community in response to the number of opioid-related hospitalizations and deaths occurring in the Town of Bourne. While the programming benefits the entire community, many of the programs have focused on substance use prevention among young people.
The Bourne Substance Free Coalition has sponsored many speakers for both youth and community members, hosted Narcan training, held events to educate parents and guardians about recognizing at-risk behaviors, and held events with local liquor stores to caution about underage drinking.
Supporting the Bourne Substance Free Coalition will allow them to continue the valuable work they are doing in the community. The funds raised will go directly towards paying for supplies and community programs.
The Mission of the Bourne Substance Free Coalition is to provide education and services that encourage the creation of a substance-free environment for our community. This group educates, raises public awareness and supports individuals and their families affected by substances.
The Falmouth Road Race is a 7-mile race which has hosted thousands of participants and spectators each of the last 54 years.
The Bourne Substance Free Coalition is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of Bourne Fire and Police personnel, school committee members chamber of commerce, mental health clinicians, concerned parents, individuals who have lost loved ones to overdose, school personnel, and many other dedicated community members committed to supporting our town. Please see their web page (Substance Use Information | Bourne Substance Free Coalition | Bourne) for additional information.
Thank you!
