Help Support Bobbie Petroske in Her Fight Against Cancer During Pandemic
Goal - $25,000
Bobbie was born in Staten Island, NY in 1944. Since then, she has been making the world a better place. Despite a chaotic childhood, she maintained a positive attitude. She has lived in New York, Maryland, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nevada, and Minnesota - attending seventeen different schools while growing up. In a home with absent parents, she raised her two younger brothers. Always a family woman, she married her husband Mike in 1993 and raised three children of her own. She now has many grandchildren and a few greats.
She has always had strong ties to her community. She has held many different jobs, mostly in public service. She worked for the Federal Reserve Bank, USPS as a mail carrier, Abbott NW Hospital, food sales and farmers markets, as well as many part time jobs at places like The Guthrie and TR Mccoys. She is also a member of Citizen Potawatomi Nation. Around Northeast Minneapolis, she is known for her baked goods, such as banana bread.
Several months into the Covid-19 pandemic, Bobbie was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer (stage 3). She is currently on her second round of chemotherapy, and things were looking up until around Thanksgiving. She is in a lot of pain and is very weak. She is too weak to hold her cell phone, and really misses her ability to socialize! Amongst this battle with cancer, she is having home repair issues during the cold winter months. It cost $1900 to repair her roof, and this pales in comparison to all of the costs of cancer treatments.
A woman loved by her family and community needs help, so donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. As times are tough during the pandemic for many people, if you are unable to help financially, even just sharing this post or her story with your network would be much appreciated.
With all she’s done for the community, lets help out our community!
Thank you
