The drummer's always going to be there. They're the floor of the whole deal and everyone can stand up on you. ~Ringo Starr
When I think of my Uncle Billy, this quote seems so very fitting. Whether you know him as a former teacher, band mate, a mentor, a friend or family, you know that behind the drums or in day to day interactions he's someone we've always been able to depend on. While he's still got that same spirit, his physical ailments have taken their toll.
With his diagnosis of Parkinson’s seven years ago, he had to make the decision to acknowledge the physical restrictions of the disease and pull back from a most rewarding career. On February 28, 2019 a fall, resulting in a hip fracture further complicated his condition. The disability now requires him to need on-going care within an “Assisted Living Facility”. Now at the age of 86, he can only reminisce about his wealth of life experiences and the wonderful people in his life.
It's our turn to let him lean on us by showing your love and support. The funds will be used to off-set some of the mounting expenses for his ongoing care and maintenance. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated.
We truly thank you for your gifts of love, financial support, and prayers. May God Bless each and everyone of you!
The COVID-19 Pandemic has created an additional challenge of isolation as he is no longer able to see his wife (my Aunt Joyce), of over 55 years on a consistent basis. If you would like to send cards or any other communications, this would lift his spirits. Please know that this show of love is greatly appreciated and in order not to add another task to my aunt's list, let this THANK YOU acknowledge anything you may send to:
