Supporting Betty Through Cancer
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kindhearted supporters,
On June 28th, 2023, Betty’s life was changed forever. After getting her first mammogram at the age of 35, she was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer called micropapillary. For the past eight months, Betty has been facing one challenge after another: she has endured a double mastectomy surgery, five months of chemotherapy, 13 of 25 radiation treatments, and is slated to start hormone therapy.
As many of you know, trying to beat breast cancer is not just a physical battle, it takes an emotional and financial toll as well. The cost of treatment, medications, surgeries, and supportive care is overwhelming, not to mention the loss of income due to time spent away from work.
Betty owns and operates Custodio Taxidermy, the only taxidermy studio in Seattle. She has developed a loyal customer base due in part to her passion, commitment to detail, and excellence in quality. She wants nothing more than to return to work full time. However, her role as an artist and small business owner has been forced to take a back seat while she prioritizes her recovery and survival.
Amidst this challenge, we continue to believe in the power of community. We have been moved by the love and support already given by friends, family, and near strangers. This GoFundMe campaign and your kindness will provide financial assistance in addressing the mounting medical bills and help alleviate the financial burden that comes with fighting cancer.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your compassion, generosity, and continued support. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference and allows Betty to focus on what truly matters - her health and recovery. Please consider sharing this with others even if you cannot make a gift at this time.
