Bernie De Los Santos is someone who brings light, love, and kindness wherever she goes. She is a devoted wife, a loving mom, and a friend who is always there when others need her most. If you know Bernie, you know her heart for people and the joy she carries even in hard moments.

Right now, Bernie is facing another step in her journey with colorectal cancer. After 10 months of chemotherapy and radiation, there was so much hope as she entered a period of monitoring. Recently, after a routine MRI, doctors found that the cancer has returned. While this wasn’t the news anyone hoped for, her doctors have a plan forward.

Bernie is scheduled for a radical hysterectomy on March 25th at Stanford. This surgery is an important next step in fighting the cancer and giving her more time with her husband and sons, who mean everything to her.

Her surgery will require her to be about 2.5 hours from home, and she is expected to stay in the hospital for several days as she recovers. During this time, her husband hopes to stay close by her side, supporting her every step of the way.

We are creating this page to help ease the financial burden during this season. Donations will go toward travel, hotel stays, meals, medical expenses, and household bills so Bernie can focus fully on healing and recovery.

Bernie has spent her life showing up for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
