Supporting Benny & Family

Hi I’m Benny’s mother in law Brenda. Im starting this fundraiser as my son in law Benny is facing a major surgery in April. I’m going to let my daughter explain so I’m including her message.

”Hello Family & Friends. I need to share some news about Benny. A few months ago he started to have facial paralysis. They did a ct scan that showed he has a rare brain malformation called Chiari Malformation 1. This prompted a MRI which showed he has a very large syrinx in his spine. It’s caused about 1/3 of his face, mouth and past his ear to be completely numb. It has progressed as of late. He is in pain. We seen the neurologist over video and he is recommending surgery to remove part of his brain and skull to hopefully allow this pocket of spinal fluid to go down. He will be having surgery in April in Vancouver. We are scared and we are asking for prayers. We are also faced with the financial burden that this will cause. Ben is our main breadwinner and he will be off work around 3 months and ei is a small fraction of what he makes. I’ll be having to take time off work also to be with him in Vancouver.
