I am creating this GoFund Me to raise money, with the hope to try and support a young family that’s been delt a cruel life card and raise awareness of a cruel disease.
Benny Nye aged 47, started having seizures in January, and was diagnosed with epilepsy. Benny hasn’t been able to work at either of his two jobs since January 2025, and as his epilepsy and symptoms continued to deteriorate further medical investigations were undertaken.
On Friday the 13th of June, Benny and Steph’s world were shattered when they were informed from neuro surgeon that Benny has grade 4 Glioblastoma (an inoperable brain tumour.)
Without treatments Benny would only months to live….. with treatment there could be 5% of him making 5 years. But unfortunately it's an aggressive cancer.
It's been an incredibly hard diagnosis for Benny to take this news. At only age 47, needing to have the toughest of conversations with those that he loves and cherishes, as well as arranging all the other responsibilities that Benny and Steph need to get in order as they face the unfathomable.
Emmett (11) and Miles (9) have recently been informed although they will become more aware of the severity of Bennys diagnosis, as the family process their heartbreaking and tragic reality.
I am hoping to raise funds for the family to support them at this tragic time and to hopefully elevate some of the financial stress that comes with the loss of income, closing their business, medical costs, and to support the future financial costs that come with this harsh reality of how cruel life can be.
Every little bit counts. If you can, please Donte to this young family to support them in their time in need. If not, please share their story within your networks and raise awareness of this cruel disease.
In Australia, 2000 people are diagnosed annually with Glioblastoma (Grade 4 brain cancer)- You can help and support the thousands of people and families that are effected every year, and raise much needed funds to enable further studies to hopefully find a cure of this cruel disease, you can also support by donating at : https://www.carriesbeanies4braincancer.com
