Supporting Becca!
Donation protected
If you know Becca, you know she’s not just an animal lover but she’s a dedicated animal advocate. From committing her time to help with transport, fostering, networking, and more. She’s also one of the kindest, most giving humans there is.
Shes not only an advocate for animals, she’s also an advocate for Rescues. She has helped us countless times as well as so many other organizations. If we’ve ever been in a pinch and she’s been able to help, she’s always the first to step up.
This GoFundMe is us stepping up for Becca, because she now needs a village to rally around her as she recovers from an injury which was completely preventable.
Becca recently took in a dog from a high kill shelter to foster, pulled under a rescue. She reached out to find a rescue willing to pull. She committed to covering all expenses as well, which she did. Having two dogs of her own (both dogs are rescues) she made sure the rescue would help/intervene if there were any issues (outside of financial) to include finding a new foster if needed, the rescue assured Becca that if there was a need to move the dog, they would make it happen.
Well that didn’t happen. Due to some concerns for safety, Becca reached out to the rescue approx a month ago to find a new foster with the continued commitment to cover any financial needs. For a month she asked for help from the rescue with no follow through. Unfortunately, this past Friday (May 16th) Becca was injured despite all precautions that she made and took. Her hand is broken, bruised, and swollen.
Now here’s where Becca needs our help. Becca’s livelihood relies on her hands. She’s a talented Cello player. Due to the severity of this break in her hand, she was referred to an othopedic surgeon, which as of right now, surgery is not required. So far the bone fragments are staying in place and are expected to heal without surgical intervention. She will have to get regular x-rays to make sure everything continues to heal properly.
Becca does not live an extravagant life, but she lives a passionate one. One filled with dedication, commitment and kindness. This has not only impacted her ability to continue to help in the rescue world right now but also her day to day life. She relies on her music as her sole source of income. With a broken hand, her ability to play the cello will be extremely limited. The rescue has yet respond to her following the incident on Friday.
We aren’t going to post the dog. The local shelter did pick the dog up to complete the state required 10 day quarantine. They also contacted the rescue. We aren’t going to blast the rescue. Our goal isn’t to harbor negativity, Instead we are hoping to rally an amazing village for Becca. To support her when she’s supported so many and has helped so many animals. We love you Becca!
