Supporting Barb Through Her Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mark, and I’m fundraising for my wife, Barb — the strongest, kindest person I know.

For over 10 years, Barb has been fighting a long and painful health battle. It started with severe Lyme disease, and then it progressed into a rare, debilitating neuromuscular autoimmune disease called multifocal motor neuropathy. It slowly weakened her hands and feet until even everyday tasks — buttoning a shirt, holding a glass, getting dressed — became a struggle. Every three weeks, she undergoes IVIG infusions just to keep the disease from worsening. These treatments are incredibly expensive, even with insurance, but we pushed through and kept going.

Then, a month ago, our world changed again in the most devastating way.

Barb has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of breast cancer.

I still can’t believe we’re facing this. After everything she has already been through, to now watch her prepare for another life-altering battle — it’s heartbreaking. Our lives have become a blur of doctor appointments, tests, scans, surgeries, tearful conversations, and trying to process the unimaginable.

And yet, even now, Barb remains gentle, loving, and unbelievably brave. She worries more about everyone else than herself — that’s just who she is.

Who Barb Is

Barb is the heart of our family. She is a loving wife, daughter, amazing aunt, and sister who gives more than she ever asks for. She has always devoted herself to helping others- supporting our clients and volunteering with our therapy dogs. She volunteered with Roxy Therapy Dogs of Doylestown for almost 15 years by working with children through this charitable organization. Providing comfort to children and she helped improve their reading skills and build confidence at our local elementary schools. She also volunteered at our County courthouse to help children who are going through traumatic family situations and victims of crime with our therapy dogs. She’s the kind of person who shows up for everyone — no matter what she’s going through herself. Seeing her forced to pause everything she loves to do has been heartbreaking.

Now she needs others to show up for her.

Why We’re Asking for Help

Cancer treatment is overwhelming and difficult— physically, emotionally, and financially. Between surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, possible immunotherapy, continuous tests, medications, travel to appointments, and lost income, the costs are quickly becoming more than we can handle. This is on top of her ongoing IVIG treatments for her autoimmune disease, which she must continue throughout her cancer battle.

Even with insurance, we are drowning in medical bills. I want Barb to fight this cancer with every ounce of strength she has — without having to worry about how we’re going to pay for it.

That’s why I’m turning to our community, our friends, our family, and kind strangers who believe in helping others during life’s hardest moments.

We are hoping to raise $50,000 to help cover:

· Medical bills

· Travel to treatment centers

· Medications and supportive care

· Costs related to her IVIG therapy

· Essential living expenses while she recovers

· Loss of income

Every donation of any amount truly helps.
If you can’t donate, sharing Barb’s story means the world to us.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for caring about my wife. Your love, support, prayers, and generosity are helping us hold onto hope during one of the most frightening moments of our lives.

With all my gratitude,
Mark
